What OSHA standards govern the use of air guns?

Two OSHA standards apply: 29CFR Part 1910.95 (a) for noise exposure and 29CFR Part 1910.242 (b) for compressed air safety.

How do Guardair safety air guns help with OSHA noise compliance?

Guardair air guns use noise-limiting technology, like WhisperJet and QuietForce nozzles, to reduce noise and support OSHA compliance.

How do Guardair air guns comply with OSHA pressure standards?

Guardair air guns feature OSHA-compliant nozzles (Venturi, AirMiser, Air Shield, WhisperJet, QuietForce) to meet required pressure standards.

Is it necessary to lower air compressor pressure to 30 psi for compliance?

No. This is popular misconception and is not necessary for compliance. To meet this requirement, use an air gun that is properly engineered. All Guardair safety air guns meet this standard.

Can I tape down the trigger to keep the air gun on?

While OSHA doesn’t prohibit it, Guardair advises against taping triggers, as it disables safety features and can be dangerous.

Why are Guardair safety air guns better than straight pipes?

Guardair air guns are more efficient, include safety features, reduce operator fatigue, and comply with OSHA regulations, unlike straight pipes.

What is the recommended operating air pressure for Guardair safety air guns?

Most in-plant air compressors operate at pressures between 80 and 120 psi. This is the range we recommend.

Does Guardair offer replacement parts and/or repair kits for safety air guns?

Yes, Guardair provides replacement parts for most of their safety air guns, including nozzles, extensions, handles, and gun rebuild kits. This ensures long-term durability and easy maintenance, allowing you to keep your equipment in top condition.
